Pets Urine

Pets Urine

Let’s face it – everyone who has at some point owned a pat has had to deal with the smelly carpet. An untrained puppy or and older animal, marking its territory – the result is always the same. Here are some tips on how to deal with the problem in an environment- and health friendly way.

  1. In order to remove pet urine in an eco-way you need a biodegradable product that will wash away immediately and leave no residue behind. Luckily it often comes in a recycling packaging that continues the eco trend.
  2. Plant based products like the citrus or orange based are an excellent solution, even more than some harsh chemicals, and they don’t just mask the urine smell but actually remove it.
  3. You should be aware that chlorine bleach can create cancer causing chemicals in the waste water and shouldn’t use it. Other chemicals to avoid are once that contain petrochemical ingredients. Notice the label – eco friendly products contain only nontoxic ingredients.
  4. Your eco-friendly cleanser should not contain ammonia, because it is one of the ingredients of pet urine. This might encourage your pet to continue to use the same place as a toilet.
  5. Check for a green seal of approval. The bona fide organizations set the standards for green pee-cleaning products and alongside with GreenGuard make sure that you’re not getting greenwashed.

You might not smell it anymore, but your pet might – remember they have much stronger sense of smell than you. That’s why you need to make sure the odor is removed completely if you don’t want to deal with the same spot again and again, as your pet keeps coming back to use it in the same way.

Luckily, there are a great number of eco products that do it all – remove pet pee and keep the planet safe. Pet pee stains are never pleasant but you shouldn’t let them get on your nerves, because with the help of green cleaning products you can clean your home and save your planet at the same time.

Green Cleaning Products

Green Cleaning Products

When it comes to cleaning, most of us are used to using their noses as guide – if it smells clean, it probably is. Artificial lemon and pine do the trick and the fact is that it’s more likely to find a chemical-based cleaning detergent in someone’s kitchen than some of the green cleaning products. But is this the best decision? Is our kitchen as clean as it looks and smells?

Chemical Dirt

We are usually quite happy and satisfied when we manage to get a stubborn stain for instance off our floor. We don’t even consider what chemicals we put on our floor while cleaning the wretched stain. And the labels on the back of each of our cleaning products, say more than enough when they warn us not to touch them with bare hands, ingest or inhale them.

So what is the conclusion? When trying to get a wine stain off the carpet or some dirty fingers off the window, we actually leave a whole bunch of dangerous and unhealthy chemicals as residue. Although they are invisible, they are also a lot more threatening to our health than any spilled drink.

What is the alternative?

First of all we need to understand that chemicals are not the only things that may help you clean your home and they are in fact a health-endangering solution. Second of all, we should turn our sight to the healthier solution – green cleaning products. And you would never guess which the strongest and most efficient one of all is – it’s none other than ordinary water! Combine it with lemon, which is also a natural acid, and you get a product that will not only get rid of your stains but will also leave a fresh and natural smell behind.

Other two cheap, natural and effective cleaning products are vinegar and salt – vinegar takes care of mineral build-ups and even a blocked drain, and salt is great for cleaning up stains and sediment deposits. Combine the two and you get an excellent cleanser for windows and floors. Other natural cleansers include borax, washing soda and baking soda.

One of the best benefits of green cleaning products, and one we often forget is the fact that they are very cheap. In contrast – chemical-based cleaning products may cost a fortune. You can also choose a green cleaning company, which works with a concentrated cleaner and get longer-lasting results. But the best feature of all definitely remains the fact that green cleaning products are good for our environment and health.
